Riverwest Building Company was created in 2020 by Aaron Taylor. The company has always been envisioned to grow into a workers cooperative or employee owned deomcratically run company. But for now the company is run by Aaron.

Aaron grew up in Milwaukee WI. He grew up on the east side of the city near the UW Milwaukee campus. He moved to the Riverwest neighborhood at age 18.  Now 33 Aaron still lives in Riverwest where he does work related to his passions through the various divisions of this company.  Aaron has skills as a Carpenter, Educator, and Gardener.

Experience:

• 4 years bachelors degree cell and molecular biology UWM summa cum laude

• 2 years post baccalaureate work in curriculum and instruction UWM honors

• Wisconsin Teaching License in Early adolescents- Adolescents.​​​​​

  • Middle school science, High school: earth science, life science, biology, chemistry, and physics

• 2 years high school science teacher (biology, physics, earth science)

• 1 year middle school teacher (special education, science)

• 2 years in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters

• 6 years prep cook

• Artist, Writer, Poet

• 15 years gardening and composting

• 6 years canning vegetables and/or pickling

Aaron likes to work making custom shelves, cabinets, and furniture out of wood.  He can also do wood framing.  He also likes to work as a substitute teacher or tutor in the areas of math, science, health, or other difficult topics like math or upper level science courses.  Please use this website to explore the many interests and directions that Aaron hopes to grow this company into.  You may run into some friends along the way!
